It was brutally cold the day of our session, especially according to a Frenchy! however we did go outside for a few shots.

On a day like today you either lay on the couch and relax…
Or you run in the rain…

I chose to run my dog in the pouring rain; she loved it, I would have prefered to be warm and dry on the couch.
More dogs enjoying the snow!

Check out Katey ( above), she is missing a rear leg, but that definately doesn’t slow her down! she was lighting fast and extremely agile!
Just spent a week in snowy Colorado. Here’s a sneak peak of some of the great dogs I got to photograph while there.
Echo and Elmo are Cavapoos ( Cavalier and Poodle), aren’t they darling! They were both full of energy and exuberance, especially little Echo. The main goal was to get a shot of the two of them together as Elmo was leaving to go and live in the Big Easy a few days after the shoot. This shot definately took some doing, but we did it!

Mostly they were doing this…

and this…

But always looking cute!

and even posing again

Incoming….

I’ve been super busy the past few weeks doing suprise portraits for Christmas, so I am sorry I haven’t posted alot of sneak peaks lately of my sessions but many I can’t share, but here are a few that I can share.
Here’s Sammy

And I got to shoot one cool kitty too…can you believe this handsome fellow is 19. It was the first time I photographed a cat on location, given his age there wasn’t a concern of him running off. He really enjoyed exploring the park.

Photographed these beautiful rescue girls a few weeks ago. These two are quite a pair and are so bonded to one another. They had a fabulous time at the park, running and chasing each other and discovering by accident what dock diving is ( and didn’t like it!)
First a few stills before the action began…

Then the fun began….

And down to the dock

Some people shy away from doing a photoshoot in the winter, I think it can be one of the prettiest times of year to photograph dogs. The light is dramatic, the weather is cool and brisk and so many dogs coats accent the scenery just beautifully.
Here’s handsome Cosmo, he loved exploring in the woods!

And here is sweet Dharma. She may be in her golden years but when she spotted this creek she was off like a shot to get in as she loves nothing more than a dip in some cool water.

Pica was my toughest model, she graced me with one “smile” when I made the strangest noise known to man
